The Fundamentals


Affinity for beauty led me to become a designer.
A magnetic desire for results and impact led me to digital marketing.
A fundamental need to build great user experiences led me to develop.

My credo as a designer is to find beautiful solutions to complex problems and harmoniously merge form with function. I strive to design and build for users first and ego last. Technology is accelerating our evolution and lateral thinking is required to improve how we interact with it. On top of software mastery and code chops, it takes data and research to make optimal design decisions.

In the last decade, I’ve helped forge and fortify countless brands. I’ve personally designed and built well over a hundred commercial websites and managed large scale, multifaceted digital marketing campaigns. I know how to engage audiences in new ways and strengthen brand affinity. I’ve managed and mentored creative minds and helped organizations navigate towards the future. Every single project contains priceless lessons when you’re hungry for knowledge, and I’ve developed one heck of an appetite.

A Brief History


  • 2015-Today

    Starbucks

    Senior Creative Operations Manager (2017-now)I help lead the creative operations team at Starbucks, specifically in support of our Mobile Order and Pay platforms and online menus.
    Senior Marketing Manager – Teavana (2015-2017)I lead the email marketing channel for the world’s leading tea retailer. This included strategically planning, designing and building email campaigns and maturing our CRM. I also managed an increasingly complex array of marketing automation tools while constantly searching for new ways to optimize performance and enhance customer experience.

    I worked alongside a brilliant cross-functional team focused on building brand equity and driving ecommerce business. Our mission was to elevate every day moments for our customers via 350+ stores, Starbucks stores, and in our digital channels.

  • 2014

    Moved to Seattle

    Moved to SeattleI fulfilled a lifelong goal of living in the Pacific Northwest and relocated to Seattle in early July. I love this place!

    During my first months in Seattle, I trained as a Technical Producer for Exact Target and the Salesforce Marketing Cloud. I sharpened my mobile-responsive email build capabilities while completing contract and agency projects for great clients including Microsoft, HTC, and Live Nation.

    Coborn's, Inc.

    Digital Marketing Manager (2014)Senior Web Designer (2011-2014)Web Designer (2010-2011)As Senior Web Designer at Coborn’s, Inc, I was able to help build a digital marketing department from the ground up for this regional grocery retailer with $1B+ in annual sales. I managed user interface design, email marketing campaigns, online content strategy, SEM, SEO and much more. My efforts were instrumental in establishing a company Intranet and increasing efficiencies through the effective use of technology for all 7,000+ employees. I was also a key player in the expansion of the company’s innovative grocery delivery service, CobornsDelivers.com.

    The rewards of these successes have come in the form of national design awards, dramatically increased audiences, and being able to watch my department grow and flourish.

    Th!nkCreative Media Works

    Art Director / Lead DesignerAs an instrumental player for this innovative regional agency, I developed creatively cutting-edge digital solutions for a wide array of clients. My focus was balanced between highly visual front-end web design and development, logo and print design, and audio/video production. A crucial part of my job was communicating the language of design directly with our clients.

    Curtis Marketing Group

    Lead Designer / DeveloperI was able to help bring this well-established dental marketing firm up to speed, introducing new standards of quality and optimization and dramatically compressing lead time for site launches.

  • 2005-2006

    Brain Magnet

    Lead Designer / Assistant Art DirectorIn my inaugural full-time role in the design industry, my design strength and leadership potential were quickly recognized. I leaped into the role and managed a team of diversely skilled designers and developers to build highly customized web tools for commercial and government clients. This position sparked my love of Project Management and introduced me to the joys of collaborating with solid developers.

    Brand Nucleus

    Design Nerd / Web Mechanic / OwnerI had long dreamt of bootstrapping a small design agency. Through this grand experiment, I learned a myriad of practical lessons in business management and client relations, not to mention expanding my technical abilities immensely. In the beginning, I acted primarily as a graphic design and front-end development resource for local agencies representing clients world-wide. Today, I take on a few hand-selected projects for my most trusted clients.
